Race 1

One to forget for Track Torque. The grid lottery was kinder to us this time, with the 106 car in 3rd position, however 104 was destined once again to start from near the back 106 was driven in the first stint by Neil Primrose who held position early on before being passed later by a few of the front runners. Lying in 7th coming up to the first pit window, Neil was T boned from both sides as he exited the hairpin causing extensive damage to both sills and the nearside door. After a long pit stop and several roles of gaffer tape, Peter Jarman took the 106 back out on track, however during the course of the session the door parted company from the car and we were called in to have a new door gaffered onto the car. The extra stops cost us dearly however great drives from Neil Peter and Rob got the car over the line in 19th position.

104 meanwhile had stormed off the line with Sean Lockyear at the wheel and in customary 104 fashion had made up seven places by the end of the first corner and putting the car in 10th position at the first pit window. Tim Hartland took over and put the car into 6th during session two, with Adrian Wood taking over and fighting with the leading cars to switch in 4th place. The next two sessions put the 104 out for the last session in 6th position. Things then got a little confused as the circuit timing system broke down but with Adrian lying in 5th or 6th position the car ran out of fuel with 3 laps to go as a result of a fuelling problem at an earlier pit stop. Despite this Adrian had a big enough lap cusion to be classified in 11th position at the end of the race

Thankfully both cars avoided the carnage at the start of race 1

Another 2 cars in the top 10 for Track Torque Racing

Race 2

Staring positions were decided based on race 1 finishing positions which put both cars nearer the front of the grid

104 started solidly with Sean Lockyear at the wheel, after being blocked at the start he made steady progress through the field passing the 106 car about 2/3 of the way through the session. Adrian and then Tim took over to place the car solidly in the top ten by the half way stage of the race. Sean’s second stint then featured a titanic battle with the Trucks to go/Martindale car seeing both cars locked together for a good 20 minutes of the session. In the spirit of funcup as Sean pitted for the driver change he had a big grin on his face. Adrian then carried on the good work with a very solid drive to put the car into 6th position at the change, from which Tim guided the car home to a 6th place finish

106 made a great start with Rob Jarman at the wheel and after 3 laps led the race for a couple of seconds on the start finish straight before being passed by the Obrien/Perrys car. Following the pass Rob went a little too deep into Hawthorns bend and span allowing several cars to pass in the process. He recovered at least 3 places prior to the changeover despite a brief visit into the gravel at Clervaux. Neil then took over and pushed hard with the car to hand over to Peter Jarman in 12th position. Peter had a very solid session as the race panned out and gained a further place before handing back to Rob who pulled a further 2 places before passing the car back to Neil who got the car to 9th before a further place was gained in the last session bringing the car into 8th overall

Last minute tactics shred between Adrian and Sean

Its OK He says he will miss the gravel this time

Peter and Neil relax as Rob carries on the good work
