Mondello Park provided Track Torque with an almost perfect start to the 2008 Funcup season with 2 cars finishing in the top 10. Car 106 driven by Tim Hartland, Sean Lockyear and Adrian Wood finished third and car 106 Driven by Peter Jarman, Rob Jarman, and Neil Primrose finished 9th. A feat even more commendable given that as a result of the lottery draw system of grid position in Funcup the cars had both started at the back of the grid.

Each car gained position throughout the first 3 hours of the race, Adrian Wood storming off the line and making up at least 10 places in the first lap of the race while Neil Primrose led off the 106 car at a steady pace improving position over the first hour. By the half way stage both cars had moved well up the field and were ready for the dash to the finish line. Some slick pitwork by the TrackTorque team provided a change of front end on the 104 car amidst refuelling and driver change. Coming into the final session following great drives by Peter  Jarman and Neil Primrose the 106 car was in 11th place , Rob Jarman took over for the final session taking the car into 9th only to loose 3rd and 4th gears. Using only 2nd and 5th however he managed to hold position and nurse the car over the line.

The 104 car meanwhile having stormed into third place following great drives from Sean Lockyear Tim Hartland and a second stint from Adrian Wood was suffering its own misfortune. As a result of bad luck during a pit window, following some 30 seconds behind the leading JPR and second placed Honeywell cars the safety car was brought onto track at the start of the 3rd pit window between the lead pair and the 104 car, despite this allowing the 104 car to pit first and a very rapid pit stop the 104 car had lost over a minute to the leaders from its slow lap behind the pace car. This was to prove more costly toward the end of the race when the Honeywell car slowed as a result of a gearbox fault however the gap was too much to make up and Tim Hartland settled for third place.

The Mondello event was a great start to the season with JPR motorsport once again organising a great meeting Track Torque were joined at the event by guests of one of our sponsors Dean and Wood/Mitsubishi Electrical and got a chance to put our new Race Truck and awning into use especially during testing on Friday which was a little wet
